air-conditioner-filter.jpgAir Conditioner Filter

The Air Conditioner Filter is the most important part of the central ventilation system in residential application.

It should be replaced on regular basis to avoid higher energy cost and costly maintenance on your central air conditioning.

A dirty air conditioner filter is one of the reason your A/C system would build ice, and block the air flow. The second reason is low refrigerant.

How to fix this? Turn off the air conditioning unit and let it defrost. This can take more then 24 hours. Remove and inspect the filter, if you don't see lights thru it, and when spreading the pleats you see lots of dust, hairs, and debris, replace the filter. Remember most new filters are white, if yours is dark and grey and it was use for more then 3 months, this might be the problem.

A new filter was instaled and it freezes up again, chances are you have a refrigerant leak in the evaporator coil. Call a professional technician. You don't know you to call, look on your furnace for a sticker with a phone number on it. Usually, a certified technician will leave is signature somewhere on the furnace or A/C system.

At Furnace Filters Canada, we hope you only have to replace the Air Conditioner Filter, this is the least expensive solution if your air conditioning is freezing. If this is the case, visit our House Air Filters page and purchase a pack of NEW filters today, shipping is FREE!
