Why some stores call this a 16x25x5

It's the same filter. Honeywell prints 16x25x4 on it, but the real depth is more than 4 inches, so some stores round it up.

To be sure, measure your old filter on all three sides:

You don't have to buy the Honeywell

The Five Seasons MFH-1625-4 is built for the same cabinet and carries the same MERV 11 rating. You're replacing your filter with an equal, not a step down.

It's made in Canada, and it says so right on the filter. The Honeywell says Mexico. If that matters to you, this is the one.

Three years of filters, not five. Honeywell sells the FC100A1029 in a box of five only. At about a filter a year, that's five years of filters to find room for before you've even used the first one.
