What it catches
MERV tells you how efficiently a filter captures airborne particles. This filter is rated MERV 11.
It helps capture particles such as:
- Household dust
- Pollen
- Pet dander
- Mould spores
- Dust mite debris
Not sure what the numbers mean? Read our MERV guide in plain English.
When to change it
Plan to check the filter around every 4 to 6 months. Actual life depends on your home and how often your HVAC system runs.
With 3 filters in the box, that is roughly 12 to 18 months of filters under typical conditions.
Pets, renovations and a dusty home can fill the filter sooner. If your thermostat fan stays on instead of AUTO, more air passes through the filter and it may need changing sooner.
Looking for another M1-1056 option?
The same exact size is also available as the Camfil M1-1056. It is also MERV 11 and sold in a box of 3.
Which way it goes in
There is an airflow arrow printed on the filter frame. Point the arrow in the direction the air travels toward your furnace or blower.
